14 Babies Die in Devastating Fire at Pakistan’s PIMS Hospital
A huge fire outbreak occurred in the PIMS hospital due to an electric fault in the air conditioning machine, killing 14 babies in the nursery situated on the third floor of the hospital. The family members trapped in the dark corridors amidst smoke made frantic efforts to rescue their loved ones. It became necessary for the emergency services to break the concrete grills and windows of the building since the emergency exits were found locked to prevent the theft of babies. The witnesses reported that no one from the duty staff was seen around, whereas the hospital administration stated that there were doctors available.
